Happy New Year
|
Our owner said it would be really nice if we would kindly pose for some photos to celebrate the New Year and we did try - well just a little bit - we sat still together just long enough for her to get the photo on the left but she wasn't happy with it as she said it made Max look small as he was at the back. Well we thought if she wasn't happy with that we would just not 'pose' at all and we would do just exactly what we wanted as it was a holiday anyway! |

Max avoiding the camera lens |
Max decided that he would adopt the method used by celebrities and hide his face behind his paw (he hasn't been the same since he found out he was the Felix Rascal of the Month for January and his picture appeared in the Your Cat magazine!) New Years Eve was very noisy indeed in our village. At about midnight there were lots and lots of fireworks and we thought we were under attack so I went to my favourite hiding place on one of the dining chairs under the dining table. Max was very much more brave and he went to look out of the window at the rockets but he kept popping down to see me to make sure I was OK which I thought was rather nice. New Year's Day was very wet indeed and our hopes of exploring the garden were dashed for much of the day until the rain stopped briefly and our owner let us venture out for a while. |

Max discovered a huge puddle on the patio which had bubbles coming up through it. Being something of a brave adventurer he went in to investigate - no doubt at great risk to life and limb as it was at least two inches deep! He wasn't able to stop the bubbles but I don't doubt he scared them a bit with his puddle paddling! He was so engrossed with the bubbles that he didn't notice our owner approaching with the camera so he did not realise that his brave adventures are on record for all the world to see! The rains continued to fall overnight and again this morning which meant that our owner had to spend the day at home with us as the roads out of the village were flooded and unpassable. We have decided that living on a hill has its advantages if it means she gets to spend more time with us! |

Testing the water! |
Sadly our favourite toy mouse 'Cecil' has gone into hiding - he disappeared the day after Boxing Day and has not been seen since. We sent out search parties but to no avail so we are hoping our owner can find us another one soon as we so enjoyed playing with him. Happy New Year to all our readers! Lara
