Spring is in the air!

Well at last it really feels as if Spring is here - after days of cold and frost the sun is finally streaming in through the windows of the conservatory and the daffodils are happily waving in the breeze.

This is much more like it - much more like the weather when I first arrived here almost a year ago. Max and I can enjoy lazing in the chairs in patches of glorious sunshine and while the days away whilst our owner is away at work earning lots of money to buy us more cat food and toys to play with.

We have also been able to play in the garden more - the trees are still bare of leaves which is a bit of a problem when we try to climb them because we can be seen quite easily from the house and brought back down to earth but it does have the advantage that it is easier to spot the birds and stalk them.

We have had the big hedge trimmed back, the lawn has been cut for the first time this year and gradually the garden seems to be coming back to life. The ice has gone from the water feature and we can no longer walk across it but have to tiptoe carefully round the edge.

It hardly seems possible to believe that I have been here for almost a year - the time seems to have flown by and we are getting to be quite big now.

My favourite hiding places and cosy sleeping areas are not quite as roomy as they were and it gets harder and harder to fit on to Joan's knee or in the washbasin like we used to do.

Max is heavier than I am and I really have to keep my wits about me when we play together! It is still great fun to run and chase both indoors and outside and to hide and then spring out just when Max least expects it.

We are still inseparable and we love to explore together and then cuddle up in some warm and cosy place.

Rumour has it that very soon we will need to visit the vets to update our vaccinations to make sure that we can stay healthy. It seems ages since we saw the people at the vets and we are just hoping that they will make a fuss of us as they did when we went there last year.

Lara used to be able to fit easily under this stool!
