I joined Pets as Therapy in 2004 full of enthusiasm for the organisation and the work they do. Sadly I have to say I have become somewhat disillusioned in the way in which the charity is run and the fact that it is not open with its members.

In mid 2005 I asked them to send me a copy of their Annual Report and Accounts. Despite reminders they failed to do so and so I had to write to the Charity Commissioners in order to have sight of their accounts. All Charities are obliged to supply a copy of their Annual Report and Accounts on request to anyone who asks for them. I also wrote to the Chairman of Pets as Therapy, Sir Peter Baldwin KCB, in mid July 2005 and, three months on, I am still awaiting the courtesy of a reply. I have now copied my letter to the Charity Comissioners in the hope that they might elicit a response.
