Oscar

We got such a suprise this morning - Joan went out bright and early carrying the cat basket but without either of us. We wondered what was going on and when she returned about 4 hours later there was a little kitten in our cat basket!!

Well actually it was quite a big kitten - bigger than either of us were when we moved in here and he is quite bold.

It seems he is the chocolate tabby point male birman kitten that Joan was hoping to get a couple of weeks ago. Well it seems that the lady who was going to have him decided that we could have him instead so Joan went to collect him this morning.

The trouble is that she arranged all of that without even asking us! I mean really, we live here to and should have been consulted.

He seems OK but he does want to play with us and we aren't too sure if we want to play with him!

At the moment he has only very very faint markings but he will have stripey face and legs - in America he would be called 'Lynx Point' rather than tabby point.

It didn't take him very long to find our dish of milk and our toys and we don't mind him playing with our toys just as long as we don't have to join in although Joan seems to think we will change our minds about that in a day or two.

Maybe we will - he looks really cute and even if we hiss at him it doesn't seem to worry him so I guess we could make him welcome just so long as he knows who is boss!

His 'posh' name is Churston Chutney but we think Oscar suits him for a regular name - we just hope he thinks so too!
