Christmas 2003
Lara on her second birthday |
Merry Christmas to all our readers and very best wishes for 2004. Time just seems to fly by - it seems no time at all since Max and I were enjoying our very first Christmas with Joan. Of course it was actually my second Christmas because I was born in December 2001 but I was very tiny at Christmas and hadn't even opened my eyes on the world so last year was my first proper Christmas. This year Oscar is seeing it for the first time so it is all very new and strange to him but he is picking things up very quickly and is joining in with the playing with cards as soon as Joan opens them up! Last Sunday was my second birthday so we all had lots of fun playing with my new toy mouse and posing for a few photos for the web site! |
I am not too sure how Joan knew that I wanted a new mouse but I am glad she did. Between us we have eaten the tails off the old ones and that means that they are harder to toss around. They are so much more fun when you can flick them in the air and then run after them and pounce! As you will see from the photos it is a grey mouse which makes it so realistic - it is so much like the real thing that any visitors we get tend to look at it twice just to make sure that it isn't going to get up and run around the room! It does do that sometimes but only in my mouth so they really don't need to worry. I wasn't mean with my new toy and I let Max play with it as well. You don't so much let Oscar play with things he sort of just claims them - so Max and I kept it out of his way on Sunday until we got bored with it! |

Early on Christmas morning we took the opportunity to open our presents together - we got yet more toy mice, three jingly balls and two wobble mice so we think we did quite well. Joan got a glove from us, a lovely green glove with a toy mouse attached to each finger so that she can play along with us and doesn't feel left out! The day dawned bright and warm so we got to play out in the garden for ages and ages. We thought about getting a bird for Christmas dinner but none of them seemed to want to venture close enough so we have settled for coming back inside in the hope that Joan will share her dinner with us once she has finished cooking it! |

We do hope that you have all had a lovely Christmas as well and that all your wishes for the New Year come true! Lara |
